Attorneys

The attorneys of Joyce, Meredith, Flitcroft, and Normand’s litigation group share a reputation for excellence, which began over 75 years ago with the founding of the firm by the Honorable Frank Wilson, Federal Bench for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Our litigation attorneys have appeared and are admitted in the federal courts of Tennessee, and the state courts of Tennessee and Kentucky.

James T. Normand:  Mr. Normand joined JMFN in 1987 and is currently the managing member of the firm. Born and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, graduated Oak Ridge High School in 1980, East Tennessee State University Cum Laude, with a BA in Accounting, in 1984 and the University of Tennessee, College of Law in 1987, where he was a member of Gamma Beta Phi Legal Honor Society. Mr. Normand was admitted to the Tennessee bar in 1987; and is currently a member of the Anderson County (President 1998-1999), Tennessee Bar and American Bar Associations, Tennessee Land Title Association, American Land Title Association, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Associations, The Association of Trial lawyers of America and formerly a member of the National Association of Accountants. Mr. Normand’s practice includes residential and commercial property transactions for individuals and lending institutions. Practice areas include: Personal Injury, Residential and Commercial Real Estate Law, Personal Injury, General Litigation, Estate Planning and Estate Administration, Corporations, and Child Support Enforcement.

Pamela P. Gibson:
  Mrs. Gibson joined JMFN in 2003. Mrs. Gibson is currently a senior attorney in the firm’s property practice group. Mrs. Gibson received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Maryland where she was the recipient of the Deans Award for Contracts, “Best in Class”. Her practice includes residential and commercial property transactions for individuals and lending institutions. Prior to joining the firm Mrs. Gibson served with distinction in the United States Air Force. Mrs. Gibson was admitted to the Tennessee bar in 2002 and is currently a member of the Anderson County and Tennessee Bar Associations.

KATIE S. FAIR, STAFF ATTORNEY:
  Mrs. Fair joined JMFN in 2020 as an associate attorney in the firm’s property division. She graduated with honors from Maryville College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2018, she received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Lincoln Memorial University’s John J. Duncan, Jr., School of Law, where she graduated with honors. While in law school, she was the Editor-in-Chief of the LMU Law Review and held leadership positions in the Watson, Jr. Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta. She has also had her writings published in the LMU Law Review. Mrs. Fair was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2018 and her practice centers on helping individuals and financial institutions navigate residential and commercial real estate transactions.

MELINDA BUCK BROWN, STAFF ATTORNEY:
  Mrs. Brown joined JMFN in 2020 as an associate attorney in the firm’s property division. She graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science – Criminal Justice degree. In 2020, she received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Lincoln Memorial University’s John J. Duncan, Jr., School of Law, where she was the head of the Dean’s Fellows Program and was nominated for Lincoln Awards for Leadership and Outstanding Character. Mrs. Brown was admitted to the Tennessee bar in 2020 and her practice centers on assisting with handling real estate matters, drafting contracts, processing closing packages, conducting closings of residential and commercial real estate transactions, Estate Planning, and Estate Administration.
